Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) Confident in APC’s Success in Upcoming Elections

The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has expressed confidence in the performance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming that Nigerians will soon celebrate the outcomes of the party’s efforts.
This statement was made on Monday at the national secretariat of the APC in Abuja, following a closed-door meeting with the party’s national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Hope Uzodimma, the Chairman of the PGF and Governor of Imo State, declared that the APC is poised to win the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states, noting that the party holds a majority with 20 governors.
Uzodimma was accompanied by Cross River Governor Bassey Otu, Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, and Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Uzodimma stated, “I am the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and when I speak, I speak on behalf of my colleagues, 20 governors. A party like APC that is in control of 20 states out of 36 and has also produced a President and members of the Federal Executive Council is the majority party. If election is the game of numbers, it means majority will win.”
He added that the National Campaign Council would be inaugurated in Edo State on the 20th of this month, with significant attendance expected from PGF members.
Uzodimma emphasized the APC’s political strength, asserting, “Which other party can provide or boast of such assets? The truth of the matter is that the APC has done very well in Nigeria.
“What is happening currently is a global economic problem. In Nigeria, under our own leadership, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is implementing policies to address the economic situation he inherited. By the grace of God, I am very confident that very soon Nigerians will be jubilant about how he has managed to navigate the waters.”
Dr. Ganduje, the National Chairman of the APC, expressed gratitude to the governors for their visit.
He said, “There is no doubt, we are highly elated. We anticipated today when I got the information that they are coming. So, I think it is a big blessing to us. We are so happy about it and have confidence in them. We will do all it takes to ensure that we maintain a good relationship with our governors all over the country and protect their interests. There is no doubt that they are also assisting the party and making the party proud as an institution.”
