Police Inspector Commits Suicide in Maiduguri

A police inspector (name withheld) has reportedly committed suicide in Maiduguri, Borno State capital

A tragic incident has unfolded in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, where a police inspector, whose identity is being withheld, has reportedly taken his own life. 
The officer, who served at the Gwange Divisional of the Borno Police Command, was last seen three days prior, appearing healthy according to community sources.
However, alarm bells rang in his neighborhood at Layin Bayan, Wulari Jerusalem area of Maiduguri, on Saturday morning.
Residents noticed an unusual odor emanating from the inspector’s apartment, with his door locked from the inside.
Concerned neighbors immediately notified the authorities, prompting officers from the Metro Division and Gwange Division to respond to the scene.
Upon arrival, they discovered the distressing truth, the lifeless body of the inspector lay on the floor of his bedroom.
The circumstances surrounding his decision to take his own life remain unclear, leaving the community shocked and searching for answers.
Despite the gravity of the situation, police authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
 Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer in Borno, ASP Kenneth Daso, have been unsuccessful as calls to his phone have gone unanswered.
This tragic event has left the community in mourning and highlights the need for support systems within law enforcement to address mental health concerns among officers.
As investigations continue, questions linger about what could have led to this heartbreaking outcome for the dedicated officer and those who knew him.
