Ohaneze Ndigbo Expresses Optimism Over Outcome of Imo Guber Polls

Ahead of the final announcement of results and declaration of winner of the Saturday’s governorship election in Imo State, the Youth Wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide on Sunday, expressed confidence over a peaceful and violence free poll in the state.
The Ohaneze Ndigbo acting Youth leader, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, in a statement on Sunday,  said no single casualty or bloodshed was recorded anywhere across the state.
He also appreciated President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu who had been monitoring the exercise to ensure a peaceful, transparent and credible poll.
He said, “After monitoring 305 wards in the state, may I announce to you that all local government collation officers have returned to the state headquarters and collation is going on smoothly.
“As we await soon announcement of the election, it’s a thing of joy to note that there’s no single casualty or bloodshed recorded anywhere across the state.
“Imo election was violence free, fair and peaceful. Let’s wait for the announcement of the results.
“I wish to express appreciation to the President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo who had stood on his toes since Friday to ensure the election was peaceful, credible and successful.
“We’re confident that the exercise would be credible and successful at the end of the day to the glory of God.”
