Salah’s brace against Brentford fires Liverpool to second spot

Liverpool triumphed over Brentford this afternoon at Anfield, firing the Reds to second spot on the Premier League table – leveling on points with Arsenal. Tsimikas and Endo, who were called upon for the injured Robertson and suspended Mac Allister, were impressive during their 3-0 victory.

Liverpool would have been 2-0 up after 27 minutes of play but Unfortunately, Darwin Núñez’s goals, which were registered 22nd and 27th minutes respectively, were ruled out by VAR. Ten minutes on, Salah’s brilliant strike via Nunez’s assist put Liverpool ahead of their visitors – ending the first half with a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, while Brentford was putting all efforts into neutralizing the 1-0 deficit, Salah scored in the 62nd minute to complete his brace. The Egyptian who was voted Premier League player for October has now scored 10 league goals in his 12 Premier League appearances – amassing 14 goals contributions in the league this season.

Diogo Jota extended Liverpool’s victory to 3-0 after scoring in the 74 minutes through Taimikas’ assist, who grabbed his second assist in the tie.

Liverpool leveled on points with Arsenal (27) moving ahead of the gunners with a goal difference in the Premier League table.
