Nigerian businessman Obinna Iyiegbu, known widely as Obi Cubana, has gifted Pastor Jerry Eze a mansion valued at N500 million as a birthday present.
He announced the gesture on Instagram on Saturday, August 22, the day Eze turned 44. The property will not be handed over immediately; Obi Cubana said it will be ready by December.
In the post accompanying the announcement, Obi Cubana wrote: “Today is a celebration of Grace, an uncommon GRACE!” He thanked Eze for his work at the altar and for what he described as years of showing up for others, adding that the gift was his way of returning that support. He closed the message referring to Eze as “nwanne nke m,” Igbo for “my sibling.”
The mansion is not the first public gesture between the two men. Eze led a prayer session at Obi Cubana’s 50th birthday celebration in April 2025. Months later, Obi Cubana gifted him a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, telling him on camera, “You’re the first person, number one, to receive this.” The pair have also travelled together by private jet, and Obi Cubana attended Eze’s 42nd birthday dinner in 2024. The two frequently appear at each other’s public events, a pattern that has continued for several years.
The gift drew a wide range of comments online. A fan on Instagram credited Eze’s prayers with healing a family member while other comments praised Obi Cubana’s generosity and wished both men well.
Not every response was celebratory, however. On X, some users questioned the choice of a mansion over more direct forms of support. One user asked why the property could not go to someone without housing instead. Another asked whether Pastor Eze would pass any part of the gift to members of his congregation in need.
Pastor Jerry Eze is the founder of Streams of Joy International and convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), an online prayer platform followed by millions.
The mansion gift comes weeks after Eze’s appointment as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the board of Heirs Life Assurance, effective August 10, 2026.
