Fake Agency Operators Should Have Fled – Shehu Sani

Former Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the Federal Government’s discovery of another fake agency operating within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
Sani, in a post on X, said individuals running fake government agencies should have stopped their activities after another fictitious agency was exposed.
He wondered why those behind the latest illegal operation continued despite the risks, until they were eventually discovered by authorities.
His reaction followed the suspension of three permanent secretaries and the arrest order issued against George Buchi Nwabueze over the National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) said the office had been operating illegally within the OSGF without presidential approval.
The commission identified Nwabueze as the promoter of the office and alleged that he operated the organisation using several names.
Following the discovery, President Bola Tinubu ordered Nwabueze’s immediate arrest and approved the suspension of M.S. Danjuma, Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah pending further investigation.
The latest development comes after the ICPC uncovered three other fictitious government agencies during its investigation.
Reacting to the development, Sani said those operating fake agencies should have realised they were at risk after the first case was exposed.
“If you are running a fake agency and you heard that another fake agency has been busted, you are supposed to shut down and run; but they stayed until the hammer reached them,” Sani said.
