NITDA Collaborate With Tiktok to Boost Digital Literacy

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has joined forces with TikTok to enhance online safety and digital literacy across Nigeria.

This collaboration, part of TikTok’s “Safer Together” initiative, aims to equip Nigerians with the tools and knowledge to navigate the digital landscape responsibly.

At a recent event in Abuja, the initiative focused on promoting digital well-being, especially among educators, parents, and young people.

NITDA highlighted Nigeria’s rapid digital growth, emphasizing the country’s expanding tech ecosystem and increased internet connectivity.

However, this progress comes with challenges such as cyberbullying and misinformation, making digital literacy essential.

To address these issues, NITDA has implemented strategies to ensure safe and inclusive online experiences. The partnership with TikTok adds to these efforts by introducing features like screen time management and anti-bullying tools while expanding awareness campaigns to Lagos, Abuja, and beyond.

With a target to make 70% of Nigerians digitally literate by 2027, NITDA sees this initiative as a step toward building a robust digital economy.

Both organizations called on stakeholders to collaborate in fostering a safer and more engaging online environment for all.
