Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service Postpones Recruitment Shortlist Publication

The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) has postponed the publication of shortlisted candidates for its ongoing recruitment exercise, which was initially scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2026.
The agency said the decision was necessary to ensure a thorough, transparent and accurate recruitment process.
In a public notice signed by the Director of Human Resources, ACG Issaka Ahmed, and published on its official X handle on Friday, NAQS apologised for the delay and urged applicants to remain patient.
The agency said a new date for the release of the shortlist would be communicated through its official communication channels.
The recruitment exercise, which opened on July 28 and closed on August 10, recorded 606,928 attempted applications, out of which 407,659 were successfully submitted. A total of 199,269 applications were incomplete at the close of the exercise.

Other categories included NCE with 79,685 applications, OND with 70,170, and Superintendent, requiring a master’s degree, with 13,183 applications.
NAQS had earlier announced plans to conduct a computer-based test and interviews on August 15 following the release of the shortlisted candidates.
However, with the postponement of the shortlist, applicants will now await new dates for the subsequent stages of the recruitment process.
The agency advised candidates and members of the public to rely only on information published through its official communication channels.
The recruitment exercise covers the Superintendent, Inspectorate and Assistant cadres.
