Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has revealed a new look after undergoing a series of non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
Ogbodo announced the change on Thursday, August 13, through a post on her Instagram page. She shared photos of her new look alongside an explanation of the decision.
“I got me a new face, because I can,” she wrote. “I’m a woman who believes in one thing: if you don’t like it, change it. I’m not about to sit down and complain about something I have the power to improve. I love my face, I love myself, but babes, we can always upgrade.”

The actress specified that the transformation did not involve surgery. She said she had threads, fillers, and a PDO (polydioxanone) treatment carried out to lift her face, restore lost volume, and smooth out lines.
“I had threads, fillers and PDO done to lift, restore volume, smooth out lines and give me that fresh, youthful, well-rested look, without surgery,” Ogbodo said.
She added that the decision was not a sign of dissatisfaction with her appearance but a personal choice to make changes she felt were available to her.
The announcement drew a wide range of reactions on social media.
Some users defended the actress’s right to make her own choices. A fan identified as Riyan said, “I love people that do what they like and don’t care about anybody’s opinion.” Another user, Oscar, said, “In all honesty, she looks good already.”
Others responded with humor or skepticism. One X user commented, “This one is looking confused; she doesn’t even resemble herself.” Another user wrote simply, “Alien, is that you?”

A number of users raised concerns about the long-term effects of repeated cosmetic procedures. A comment read, “If she reaches 50 years, she will see what she did to herself.” Another X user, Josee Barnabas, commented, “I really don’t know why women love to go the extra mile. Once they have money, the next thing they do is body and facial enhancements.”
Ogbodo has built a long career in the Nigerian film industry and has previously spoken openly about aspects of her personal life and appearance. The 40-year-old actress also confirmed the end of her marriage to her husband, Bobby Maris, in early July, weeks before her announcement of a facial procedure.
