NCAA And ICAO Reach Agreement On Civil Aviation Masterplan

Civil Aviation Masterplan

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have signed the Civil Aviation Masterplan (CAMP) to open up prospects in the aviation sector.

During a visit to ICAO in Montreal, Canada, Captain Musa Nuhu, Director General of Civil Aviation Nigeria, and Juan Carlos Salazar, Secretary General of ICAO, signed the agreement with the assurance that the masterplan would open doors for the Nigerian aviation sector.

This is a crucial step in repositioning the country’s aviation industry to realize its full potential and significantly contribute to the economic growth and development of the country, according to Nuhu.

He said that the development and implementation of CAMP would involve all pertinent players, both inside and outside the aviation industry.

Another step is the signing of the Aeronautical Search and Rescue Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Nuhu and Karl Legba, Nuhu’s counterpart in the Republic of Benin.

The long-overdue MoU, according to Nuhu, will increase the safety of flight operations in the area.

Nigeria and Togo also inked the SAR agreements at Lome.

Col. Latta Gnama, a representative of Togo, and Nuhu signed the agreement on behalf of the two nations.

The head of the NCAA revealed that they would ink further SAR MoUs with adjacent nations in the coming weeks.
