Missing Baby Sold by House Help, Found in Lagos Market

On February 3, a baby named Munachimso was kidnapped in Lagos by a house help named Ruth Okezie, just four days after she started working for the family. The maid, Ruth, was hired through a house help agent and allegedly betrayed the trust placed in her to care for the child.

The incident garnered public attention after the missing person’s report was shared on social media, probably prompting the buyer to jilt.

The baby was later found abandoned in Alade market, Shomolu on February 5.

Ruth was apprehended in Ikorodu, and she confessed to selling the baby for N800,000.
