Manchester United’s captain will miss the trip to Liverpool through suspension

Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes will miss Manchester United’s trip to Liverpool in the Premier League next Sunday through suspension, the club has revealed.

Bruno received his fifth booking in the Premier League this season during their 3-0 emphatic loss at home to Bournemouth yesterday

“Our captain appeared to receive the caution for dissent, from referee Peter Bankes.

It was a hugely disappointing game for Fernandes and his team-mates.

Bruno had been walking the disciplinary tightrope for several weeks, with the bookings he had received coming before the end of October.”

Bruno Fernandes was shown yellow cards in Manchester United meetings with Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest in August. He was also booked during United’s defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City.

“Bruno will therefore not be involved when we travel to Anfield for the 16:30 GMT kick-off.

He will, of course, be free to play when we host Bayern Munich in Tuesday’s crucial Champions League game.”
