DSS establishes PR and strategic communications directorate

Director General of the Department of State Services Yusuf Bichi has revealed that plans are in top gear for the secret police to begin the production of its own Unmanned Ariel Vehicles(drones), AK-47s and more weapons that can possibly be sold to other security agencies and also used to boost operations of the service.

Bichi made this known in Abuja on Saturday 9th December 2023, during the graduation ceremony of the Executive Intelligence Management Course(EIMC) where 16 participants were in attendance.

Stressing the need for the services to begin the production of what it consume, the spy master stated that, when the plan materializes, among other weapons, the drones would be deployed across the country to help combat insecurity.

“In fact, sooner or later we shall start eating what we produce, and we produce what we eat. This is coded. It means we shall start deploying some of the assets we have or the platforms we produce by ourselves, including Unmanned Area Vehicles. We are producing our own AK-47″. He reiterated.

In a gathering which was attended by prominent personalities such as the Vice President Kashim Shettima, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Femi Otedola among others, the DSS boss maintained that one of the aims of producing what it consumes was to save the country from the pains of the resources being rolled out for the purchase of such weapons.

He noted that it was to also minimize the heavy reliance on foreign countries for weapons and the huge resources being sunk in buying the weapons.

While assuring that the service would not relent in providing other security agencies with credible information, Bichi equally charged the people of Plateau and Kaduna to cooperate with the security outfit to repostion the states to their glory days.

He stated that most industries in the Plateau are gone because of conflict.

Making a call for hostilities to be turned into jobs the DSS Chief stressed the importance of returning Plateau state to the home of tourism.
