Liverpool’s title hope was shattered by Manchester United as the two teams settled for a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.
Throughout the season, Jürgen Klopp’s side struggled to secure a win against Manchester United, with their most recent encounter ending in a tight 4-3 victory for the Red Devils.
In the first half, Luiz Diaz’s 23rd-minute goal gave Liverpool an early lead, dominating possession with 57% against Manchester United.
Surprisingly, the Red Devils failed to register a single shot on goal in this half, a rarity for them since 2015.
However, Manchester United made a strong comeback in the second half. An error by Quansah allowed them to equalize, followed by an impressive goal from 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo, granting them a 2-1 lead with just 20 minutes remaining.
Later, a penalty scored by Liverpool, resulting from Aaron Wan Bissaka’s foul on Harvey Elliott, leveled the score at 2-2.
Meanwhile, Arsenal maintained their position at the top of the Premier League table, thanks to their superior goal difference against Liverpool and being one point ahead of Manchester City.
