Kidnappers kill father and son, abduct 5 in Abuja community

—

In the quiet community of Gbauzokoyako, situated beyond Ketti in the Kuje Area Council of Abuja, a tragic incident unfolded on the early morning of Monday, January 29, 2024.

Suspected bandits, shrouded in darkness, claimed the lives of a father and son. The victims were identified as Adams Makada, aged 60, and his son, Bitrus, aged 25.

Reports indicate that the assailants, armed and ruthless, infiltrated the community between the hours of 12 am and 2 am.

The ominous silence of the night was shattered by the violence they unleashed, leaving devastation in their wake.

Tragically, another individual, Elisha Auta, aged 34, also fell victim to the brutality, succumbing to the attackers’ aggression.

Elisha Auta, hailing from Galadimawa, had ventured to Gbauzokoyako to express condolences and participate in the burial rites of a relative. However, he became an unintended casualty, mercilessly shot within the confines of the village by these heartless terrorists.

The grim aftermath of this assault extends beyond the loss of lives. The marauders, in their audacity, abducted five residents, plunging the community into further anguish.

The Coordinator of the Original Inhabitants Development Association of Abuja (OIDA), Pastor Danladi Jeji, shared the somber details of this harrowing incident, shedding light on the dark hours when the community was gripped by fear and sorrow.

As the affected community grapples with the pain of losing loved ones and the lingering trauma of the attack, questions arise about the state of security and the challenges faced by vulnerable regions.

The narrative of Gbauzokoyako serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerability faced by communities in the face of such ruthless acts, demanding collective efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.
