J. Cole Fires Back at Kendrick Lamar with ‘Might Delete Later’ Mixtape

The tension between J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar seems to be increasing as J. Cole released a surprise mixtape, “Might Delete Later,” which includes a track titled “7 Minute Drill.”

In this track, J. Cole appears to be responding to Kendrick Lamar’s disses on Future and Metro Boomin’s song “Like That.”

J. Cole’s lyrics suggested criticism towards Kendrick’s recent work, referring to his albums and implying that Kendrick’s output has declined over the years.

He also mentioned Kendrick’s infrequent releases of hard verses and suggested that Kendrick hasn’t been putting out quality material consistently.

In addition, J. Cole warned Kendrick that this track was just a “warning shot” and implied that he could escalate the situation if Kendrick desired to engage further.

The title of the track, “7 Minute Drill,” refers to an exercise J. Cole uses to break writer’s block, where he raps continuously for seven minutes over various beats.
