In Anambra, Group doles out cash to the downtrodden for Valentine

—

For over 30 persons from Ukwulu community in Dunukofia Council Area of Anambra state, it will be a Valentine’s Day to remember as Prince Osisioma Foundation, a non governmental organisation, provided them financial succor.

As has become an annual tradition with the group founded by Prince Dr Onyeka Nnadozie Eze, it yesterday passed through the streets of Ukwulu and visited some homes to celebrate love with the less privileged.

The Ukwulu trip was a surprise visit as many who had no thought of daily meals were blessed with cash from the Foundation.

The 30 recipients who are mainly elderly, poor and low income earners with small scale businesses, neither knew it was Valentine’s day nor had they any plans to mark it but became emergency celebrants when they received the sum of #10,000 each from the foundation.

Speaking in Ukwulu, Prince Eze who spoke through the National Coordinator, Prince Osisioma Foundation, Emeka Jesse said the Foundation has always visited rural communities on Valentine’s Day and came to Ukwulu simply out of their search for people really in need.

“We are here to celebrate you and show you love to mark the 2020 Valentine’s Day. We have come with cash gifts for each of you to support your small scale businesses and as well provide for elderly. We are not particular about where we visit but we are only interested in persons in need, the real poor income earners who need support to grow their businesses,” he said.

Prince Eze said the Osisioma Foundation has over the years engaged in such acts of charity through on the spot assessment, thanking God for his immense blessings upon him.

“This is my own little way of giving back to the society. This is a season of love and these beneficiaries need our support. What I am doing is in appreciation for all the blessings which God has showered upon and in recognition of the fact that these persons are also humans like me, who desire a good life. I want to hope that this little support of mine will blossom and help them boost their little endeavours,” Prince Eze enthused.

Some of the beneficiaries, Orandu Igbeazi, Obianaku Oranulu, Ben Okoye and Nwankwo Gabriel spoke in thanksgiving to God for the gift of their benefactor, Prince Eze and members of the foundation.

They thanked the Foundation for remembering them and said the money will go a long way to improve their living conditions.

Prince Osisioma Foundation is solely funded by Prince Dr Onyeka Nnadozie Eze, and through the foundation, thousands of lives have been touched in all parts of Nigeria, Ghana and Central Africa.

These efforts are in the areas of Healthcare, Education, Career advancement and Youth Empowerment as well as support to the poor and lowly.
