Vice President Kashim Shettima has commissioned a newly constructed Governor’s Office Complex in Borno State, describing it as a major step toward strengthening governance and improving service delivery.
The project, delivered by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, is part of ongoing efforts to modernize key government facilities and create a more conducive working environment for officials at the Government House.
Speaking during the inauguration, Governor Zulum noted that the previous office complex, built over three decades ago, had become outdated and required urgent upgrade to meet current administrative demands.
“The existing Governor’s office complex was constructed over three decades ago and required urgent modernization to improve working conditions and enhance service delivery,” Zulum said.
In his remarks, Vice President Shettima commended the governor’s commitment to infrastructure development, particularly in enhancing the capacity of the executive arm of government.

“This project reflects a clear commitment to improving governance infrastructure and providing an enabling environment for effective service delivery,” he stated.
The Vice President also inaugurated additional projects, including a Presidential Lodge annex, a new lodge annex, and a Government House clinic.
Following the commissioning, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Sheikh Muhammad Mustapha, delivered the first Juma’at sermon, highlighting the importance of spiritual reflection and moral conduct.
He urged Muslims to seek divine guidance and pray for lasting peace amid ongoing security challenges in the state.
The event attracted top government officials, including Deputy Governor Umar Usman Kadafur, members of the National Assembly, ministers, and other dignitaries.
