Nigerian singer David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, expressed gratitude for the introduction of the Best African Music Performance category at the Grammys, attributing it to divine timing.

During a recent interview with France 24, Davido was asked about his views on the addition of an African music category at the Grammys, to which he replied, “It’s all in God’s timing.”

He emphasized the longstanding dominance of African music and culture, noting that they are now gaining global recognition.

When questioned about the timing of the new category, Davido reiterated, “God’s timing is always perfect.” While acknowledging that recognition could have come sooner, he welcomed the development, highlighting the opportunity it presents for African artists to win a prestigious Grammy.
