Get Ready For Horror – Madam Koi Koi Is Here!

—

The entertainment industry in Nigeria is making waves and it is taking us with no surprise because the commitment and effort they put into acting, directing and producing is second to none. We have seen love, heartbreak, family kind of movies now get ready for horror.

There is an official release date for the horror film, The Origin: Madam Koi Koi on Netflix.

This announcement brings the two-part film’s release date closer and refutes earlier rumors that it will be opening in Nigerian theaters first. It’s coming closer, and a lot of people are looking forward to seeing Madam Koi Koi, because it’s reliving a childhood story of every Nigerian. Madam Koi Koi is one of the darkest stories told during tales by moonlight and here is a chance to even watch it live!

The planned film explores the folklore surrounding Madam Koi Koi, a deceased woman’s ghost who is said to bring bad fortune to boarding school hallways. The Nigerian secondary school system has been passing down this enigmatic and terrifying story from generation to generation.

The Origin, written by Jay Franklyn Jituboh and Dale Falola, is the tale of an evil spirit that, after being forgotten for decades, reawakens to seek vengeance and for which the town now has to pay the ultimate price.

Two inspectors, played by Deyemi Okanlawon and Baaj Adebule, are perplexed by the murders of three persons in the town. They set out to investigate and quickly become entangled in the drama.

The Origin transports its viewers to what are thought to be the first origins of the boarding school story, set in 1900.

Chukwuka Jude, Martha Ehinome, Nene Aliemeke, Tolulope Odebunmi, Omowunmi Dada, Ejiro Onojaife, Chuks Joseph, Kevin T. Solomon, Temidayo Akinboro, Iremide Adeoye, and Racheal Emem Isaac are among the cast members under Jituboh’s direction. Doyle plays the role of the school administrator.

Sometime around 2022, Idowu Adedapo and Amarachukwu Udoezika, who handled principal photography, completed the city of Abeokuta.

On October 31, 2023, this fascinating tale of Madam Koi Koi, which is a two-part movie rather than a series, will be available for streaming on Netflix. Here is another opportunity to relive childhood all thanks to Nollywood and Netflix. We can’t wait. Its Horror Season!!!
