Four policemen who foiled Anambra robbery incident gets #2m

Four Police operatives who allegedly foiled a robbery attack on Monday at Regina Caeli Junction axis of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Awka have received two million naira from Anambra State Government.

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano gave the cash reward to the Police operatives today at the governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

Also, the Governor’s wife, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano equally donated Four bags of 50Kg Rice to the police operatives.

The Police operatives comprise three Inspectors, four Sergeants and one Constable attached to Department of operations and MOPOL 29 PMF Awka.

Presenting the largesse, Governor Obiano commended the operatives for their courage in foiling the robbery attack, saying that they have made the state proud.

He explained that the largesse was to boost their morale and encourage others to emulate them.

“What these men displayed was sheer bravery and should be encouraged. It is the tradition of my government to always reward outstanding efforts in the service of our dear state. My government has made a significant investment in the area of security and to see this calibre of men who match the investments we have made with action, is most heartwarming,” the elated governor said.

Responding, the Anambra Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang thanked the governor and his wife for motivating the officers.

The CP who said the gesture will go a long way in boosting the morale of the officers and encourage them to redouble their efforts.

“Your excellencies, I want to assure you and all Ndi Anambra that the Command under my watch will continue to enhance safety and security in the State and deny criminal elements the opportunities to perpetuate their dastardly acts in the State,” Abang reassured.
