Busola Dakolo, wife of Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo, has responded to fresh allegations involving her husband, without addressing the claims directly.
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, Busola posted a video on Instagram focused on gratitude and faith. She asked her followers to join her in a simple message of thanks: “I hardly ask you for anything; please do this one thing for me. Say, ‘God, I thank you for Busola’s life.’ No special reason. Just a woman reminiscing and thinking of God’s goodness and faithfulness. Words fail me; indeed, God is good.”
The post came hours after disc jockey DJ Timmy accused Timi Dakolo of owing him money and threatened to expose the singer’s alleged “sexcapades” and “little adventures in Lagos.” Busola did not mention the allegations in her video.
Earlier this year, Busola and Timi Dakolo marked their 14th wedding anniversary in Paris. At the time, the singer credited his wife’s patience, saying, “It takes a lot of love to love me, and my wife is doing an amazing job.” The couple share three children.
The debt allegation began on Friday, July 16, when DJ Timmy called out Dakolo on Instagram, claiming the singer had owed him money for over a month. In his post, he set a deadline of Monday, July 20, warning that Dakolo should be ready to explain himself to his wife if payment did not arrive by then. He did not name a figure in the post, though other reports have put the disputed amount at £4,106.
Dakolo responded through his lawyer rather than on social media. In a cease and desist letter sent on Friday, July 17, his legal team denied that he owed DJ Timmy anything and described the claims as defamatory. The letter stated that DJ Timmy’s company, Resolve Entertainment, was contracted to handle sound, lighting, technical production, venue security, and local production for a tour that did not go ahead because the company failed to meet the required standards. The letter added that the funds in question were used to cover those same responsibilities. DJ Timmy was given seven days to stop making the statements or face legal proceedings.
DJ Timmy responded in the comment section of Dakolo’s Instagram post. He dismissed the cease and desist letter, claiming it read like it was written with ChatGPT, and said more evidence against the singer was coming.
As of July 18, DJ Timmy’s Monday deadline has not yet passed, and no lawsuit has been filed by either side.
