FG Launches Digital Training Academy to Upskill 32,000 Nigerians in AI, Cybersecurity, Others

The Federal Government has launched the Digital Training Academy (DTA) to equip 32,000 Nigerians with high-demand digital skills under a government-funded initiative.
Announced by the Minister, Dr. Tunji Alausa, the academy provides beneficiaries with free access to world-class training platforms including Coursera and Pluralsight.
The curriculum covers critical technical fields such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Software Development, and IT Automation.
The initiative operates under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI), aiming to seamlessly connect learning to skills, certifications, and real-world employment or enterprise opportunities.
Dr. Alausa emphasized a collaborative “One Government” approach, linking existing digital empowerment frameworks. Participants from the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program now gain an additional pathway to globally recognized certifications, while the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP) will help funnel the newly skilled workforce into international job markets.
Urging beneficiaries to take the opportunity seriously, the government noted that the comprehensive investment is designed to position Nigerian youth to compete effectively in the global digital economy.
