We live in a world that is full of charlatans and chameleons,
where honest and dishonest, right or wrong, just or unjust
is blurred or can be twisted depending on who and why.
We live in a world where insolence is treated as courtesy,
where criminals capture and imprison the innocent
and where cons are influential, dreaded and unrivaled,
and so, they continue to loot or threaten with immunity.
We live in live in a world where democracy is so hyped
that one could think it’s sound, yet it’s identical to deceit.
We live in a world where massive daylight invasions
and robberies are carried out in the name of democracy,
development and assistance, resulting in chaos and agony.
Where those who seek to stand on the side of the people,
peace and growth are constantly condemned or demonized,
threatened and treated as being selfish by the very self-centered.
We live in a wild world where the powerful and privileged
have a false and rude sense of entitlement and policing.
Unaccountable and mighty, they draw and redraw maps,
they run the show, they care not as they pronounce or act.
They are above the law, they are law unto themselves.
We live in a world where the will of the voters is habitually
subverted by those far and unfair who impose their puppets,
not for the benefit of the electorate and the country, but
to further their own egoïstic foreign and fooling agendas.
Voters are at the mercy of the foes of fairness within a nation
and beyond, and egoism is at the core of such manipulation.
We live in a world where the rude rule and thrive on a system
bent on the siphoning off cheap raw materials from the weaker
who, ironically, are richer in natural resources but happen
to be artificially poor and alienated. Congo is one example.
They can walk into a neighbor’s living room and straight
into the kitchen and call shots as to who should cook
what and at what time as they impose their rules, values
and authority, and demand everyone be acquiescent
and to abide by such norms, guidelines and systems.
We live in a world that expects victims of skewedness
not only to be okay with bigotry, but also to support it.
