Federal Ministry of Education Rejects Fake Three-Week Holiday Circular, Confirms Monday Resumption for Unity Colleges

The Federal Ministry of Education has officially disowned a fabricated circular currently circulating on social media, which falsely claimed that students of Federal Unity Colleges nationwide have been granted an additional three week holiday.

In a press release issued on September 12, 2026, and signed by Boriowo Folasade, Director of Press and Public Relations, the Ministry declared the document completely fraudulent and urged the public to disregard it. The Ministry reaffirmed that Monday, September 14, 2026, remains the official and approved resumption date for all Federal Unity Colleges, dismissing any claims of an extended holiday or a shifted resumption date of October 4, 2026.

According to the Ministry, the fake circular dated September 8, 2026, and bearing the reference number “FME/SS/UNI/2026/128” falsely carries the name and signature of “Dr. (Mrs.) Aisha Garba” as Permanent Secretary. The Ministry clarified that the actual Acting Permanent Secretary is, in fact, Dr. Mrs. Folake Olatunji David.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, has reassured parents, guardians, students, and all relevant stakeholders of the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring a safe, orderly, and seamless resumption process.

The Ministry has strongly advised the public to always verify information through its official communication channels and to refrain from sharing or reproducing fake official documents. The Federal Ministry of Education reiterated its ongoing dedication to delivering accurate, timely, and transparent information to the public.
