Operatives of the Mowe Division of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a suspected vehicle theft kingpin, 28 year old Mosuru Issa, and successfully recovered a stolen wine coloured Toyota Camry during a routine stop and search operation along the Lagos Ibadan Expressway.
The incident occurred on September 11, 2026, at about 0730 hours, when police officers conducting a security check along the Mowe axis flagged down the oncoming vehicle. Upon noticing the police presence, the three occupants abruptly abandoned the car and fled in various directions. Officers immediately gave chase, apprehending Issa, a resident of Osungboye Street in Agege, Lagos State, while securing the abandoned vehicle.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the automobile was stolen on September 7, 2026, from its parking location in Ojoo, Lagos State. The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Eleweran, Abeokuta, as authorities intensify efforts to track down the fleeing accomplices and locate the rightful owner of the vehicle.
Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the operatives for their swift response, vigilance, and professionalism. He reiterated the Command’s dedication to proactive policing, highway security, and the relentless disruption of criminal syndicates across the state.
