Federal Government Pledges Support for Inclusive Education on International Day of Education

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing inclusive, equitable, and future-ready education for all Nigerians, as it marked the 2026 International Day of Education. The government emphasized the need for a collaborative effort to transform the nation’s learning system, with Nigerian youths at the forefront of the change.

In a statement, the government highlighted the key areas of focus under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, including improved funding, skills development, digital learning, and the expansion of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Other areas include strengthening teacher capacity and creating safe, learner-friendly environments.

With Nigeria’s youthful population making up over half of the country’s demographic, the government is shifting from traditional top-down education models to participatory systems that empower learners through innovation, digital fluency, and entrepreneurship.
