EPL: Liverpool Winless in Three Consecutive Games After Being Crowned Champions

—

Liverpool FC suffered another defeat to Brighton at the Amex Stadium in their 37th game of the season on Monday night, marking a three-game winless streak since they were crowned champions on April 27, 2025.

Since then, they have lost to Chelsea, drawn with 10-man Arsenal, and most recently lost to Brighton.

What Happened?

Three goals were scored in the first half, with Liverpool taking a 2-1 lead. Harvey Elliott opened the scoring for Liverpool, but Yasin Ayari equalized in the 32nd minute.

Despite Arne Slot making three changes to increase the team’s attacking chances, Kaoru Mitoma, who was subbed on at the start of the second half, scored just four minutes after his introduction. It was a disappointing turn of events for the champions, who conceded a late goal from Jack Hinshelwood, allowing Brighton to secure all three points at home.

Brighton, who still have much to play for and remain determined to secure a European spot, have not lost a league game to any of the traditional “Big Six” teams at the Amex Stadium this season. They have beaten Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United, with only Arsenal managing a draw at their ground.
