Matchday 32 of the Premier League continued on Sunday afternoon, following Saturday’s fixtures. Both Liverpool and Chelsea were in action during the early kickoff on Sunday.
Liverpool edged past West Ham United with a dramatic late winner, while Chelsea salvaged a draw in the dying minutes of their clash.
Luis Díaz opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 15th minute, netting his 15th goal of the season thanks to a sublime assist from Mohamed Salah. The assist marked Salah’s 45th goal contribution this season — a historic Premier League milestone.
West Ham nearly secured a point after a defensive error by Andrew Robertson in the 86th minute, but Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson scored just before the end of regular time to seal the Reds’ win.
Meanwhile, Chelsea were stunned by bottom-of-the-table Ipswich Town, who raced to a 2-0 lead by the 31st minute. However, Ipswich conceded an own goal, and Jadon Sancho struck late to earn Chelsea a 2-2 draw by full time.
With Arsenal held to a draw on Saturday, Liverpool now need just two more wins to clinch the 2024/25 Premier League title. Chelsea continue their push for a top-four finish as they aim to secure a Champions League spot for next season.
