Engr. Okonkwo the latest 3M!!

The Nigeria Institute of Metallurgical, Mining and Materials Engineering ( NIMMME) a subsidiary of Nigeria Society of Engineers inducted over 100 corporate members, investitures49 brand new maiden/ first of its kind fellows on Friday December 1st 2023.

The above laid the foundation to understand and appreciate a man that has done so well in both the corporate and religious circles.

He comes with a passion, whose momentum could stand any force or pressure against achieving set goals. Engr. Ikenna Okonkwo is that person breakingforth boundaries, touching life and building structures through a purposefully engagement, assisting and facilitating great ideas for a creative disruption of unworkable status quo.

He was among the 49 engineers investitured as a fellow Nigeria Institute of Metallurgical, MiningandMaterialsEngineering( NIMMME). It was a landmark, unprecedented by its right, speaking in no uncommon terms the very industrious, unwavering, determined, focused personality of Engr. Okonkwo, fringed with integrity and incredible depth for vocal condemnation of injustice, unethical leadership and managerial qualities.

Looking at Engr. Okonkwo from his days as the President of CMO of St Luke’ Kubwa to his years as Bwari Deneary CMO President to the various stages of his generosity across these religious groups including the Goodshepherd Newspapers, one would be challenged by time and space to in a fair and square manner give apt description that would bring out all his colors.

He seems to me a beautiful Butterfly whose colours radiate , bringing life and excitement wherever it flies to.

He is like bees, dropping honey and making bitter and bland life situation a bit tasteful. A lion whose roars of achievements, giant strides and compound leadership/ managerial skills make men and brethren stand and watch admirably, for his stuff and breed are rare to come by.

I wouldn’t want to venture into the numeration of the various awards conferred on him for outstanding community, corporate and religious services gearing towards making his environment one with reduced rate of social ills.

Such awards and recognitions are too many I might get lost in the whole space.

I have seen generous people, I have seen those who are fearlessly vocal, I have equally come in contact with those whose passion for integrity and justice is unequalled. I have equally met those who try to lift men genuinely from the sheol of deprivation to a place of relative comfort. But I have not, outside Engr. Okonkwo seen one who embodies these sterling qualities.

I celebrate your milestones, your breaking of boundaries, your setting of new and humanity driven vision and agenda.

I celebrate your sustained passion to see things works with zero level ingratiation and grandstanding.

Continue speaking your truth no matter whose ox is gored. Continue being you, paying no attention to the various distracting and discouraging comments that are bound to come.

Each person comes with a manual, understanding one’s manual and implementating the codes for an optimal performance of who one is called to be is a big plus. Not everybody is lucky to find there’s.

You have found yours and the implementation of such destiny codes, explains why you do what you do effortlessly.

Congratulations once again Engr. Okonkwo FNSE,FNIEE on your FNIMMME conferment.

Speed on! You are on the right line of your destiny and your vision and mission very clear.

I leave you with these words of David Cottrell
“Doing the right thing isn’t always easy – in fact, sometimes it’s real hard – but just remember that doing the right thing is always right”. Think about it and be encouraged to always do more, leaving your environment and people around you better than you met them.
