American actress and TV host Ellen DeGeneres says she is stepping away from the public eye after her final Netflix shows.
The 66-year-old comedian announced she is “done” with fame.
“This is the last time you’ll see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done,” she said during her “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up” tour at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa.
When a fan asked if she would voice Dory from Pixar’s ‘Finding Nemo’ and ‘Finding Dory’ again, DeGeneres replied, “No, I’m going bye-bye, remember.”
DeGeneres also addressed allegations of misconduct on her show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which ended after reports of racism, sexual misconduct, and intimidation behind the scenes.
“I can be demanding, impatient, and tough. I am a strong woman, but I am not mean,” she said.
“I used to say, ‘I don’t care what people say about me.’ Now I realize I said that during the height of my popularity.”
