Eight CJTF Members Killed in Borno Bomb Blast

A tragic incident occurred as an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated, claiming the lives of at least eight individuals, according to a source within the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), in Gamboru Ngala.
The explosion tore through a Hilux vehicle that was transporting CJTF members, causing devastation loss.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a source familiar with the incident provided harrowing details, revealing that among the casualties were five CJTF members, one hunter who was aiding the force, and three innocent civilians.
The town commander of the CJTF corroborated these accounts when speaking to reporters, further lamenting that his own younger brother was among those who tragically lost their lives in the attack.
The commander explained that the CJTF members were en route from Gamboru Ngala to Maiduguri when the planted explosive device was triggered, resulting in the fatal blast.
“Our men were on their way from Gamboru Ngala to Maiduguri when they detonated a planted mine.” he said
Regrettably, the toll of the explosion stood at nine lives lost, with two additional individuals sustaining injuries.
‘The blast claimed the lives of nine people, with two others sustaining injuries.”
This distressing event serves as a reminder of the persistent threat posed by Boko Haram in the region of Borno State.
For over a decade, this extremist group has unleashed a wave of violence and terror, targeting civilians and security forces alike.
 Despite efforts to combat the insurgency, the menace of Boko Haram continues to loom large, leaving communities in fear and mourning.
As of now, authorities have refrained from issuing official comments on the incident, leaving many questions unanswered and grieving families seeking solace and justice in the wake of this senseless act of violence.
