Eid-el-Fitr: Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi Encourage Dedication and Prayer for the Nation

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to recommit themselves to the task of nation-building as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, the Islamic festival marking the end of Ramadan.
In his message to the nation, Tinubu emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort in shaping the future of Nigeria.
He expressed his felicitations to Muslims in Nigeria and across the globe, praying for divine rewards for their prayers and sacrifices during the holy month.
Tinubu, through his special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, highlighted the role of citizens as architects of the nation’s destiny, likening Nigeria to clay awaiting sculptors’ hands.
He called on all Nigerians to embrace their responsibility in shaping the country’s trajectory positively.
“We are the sculptor, and Nigeria is the clay; we build it the way we desire,” Tinubu said.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, also extended their congratulations to Muslims on the completion of Ramadan.
Atiku emphasized the enduring lessons of Ramadan, urging Nigerians to uphold principles of forbearance, especially in the face of economic challenges.
He urged leaders to show compassion and empathy towards the people, considering the hardships many endured during Ramadan.
“For many Nigerians who observed the mandatory Ramadan fasting this year, the reality of the harsh economic environment in the country put many families and individuals under intense pressure.”
“But in the face of this daunting challenge, many people pulled through out of seeking piety. The completion of Ramadan should cause a reflection on those in positions of authority to show more compassion to the people.”
Peter Obi echoed similar sentiments, encouraging Nigerian Muslims to seek divine intervention during Eid-el-Fitr.
He urged them not to let prevailing hardships dampen their spirit of unity and love for one another.
Reflecting on the solemnity of the holy months of Ramadan, Obi called for a renewed commitment to national unity, peace, and development.
He decried the escalating violence in the country, urging Nigerians to pray for divine intervention in addressing the situation.
Both leaders stressed the need for Muslims and Christians to draw inspiration from their respective religious observances and work together towards a brighter future for Nigeria.
They called for a collective effort in tackling the challenges facing the nation and fostering unity among its diverse populace.
