Denilson Igwe Reveals Reasons Behind Split with Mark Angel

—

Denilson Igwe, a well-known comedian, has shared details about his fallout with former collaborator Mark Angel.

In a preview for the upcoming episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Igwe suggested that he ended his partnership with Mark because he discovered Mark was cheating him and other team members.

Igwe claimed he was the one who started Mark Angel Comedy and filmed the content that Mark posted on Facebook in the early days. However, he was not informed when the Facebook page became monetized.

He further alleged that Mark didn’t share any of the earnings with him until 2016 when Mark gave him N50,000 after buying a car for himself.

Igwe also accused Mark of paying one of their top stars, Emmanuella, N20,000 per month, while they were unaware that the Facebook page was earning $160,000 per month at that time.

“I was the one who started Mark Angel Comedy. I’m an orphan, and Mark was like an elder brother. He used to work as a security guard,” Igwe said. “I learned camera work from someone and borrowed a camera. We made comic videos in our free time.”

“Mark suggested creating a Facebook page for our videos, and I agreed without knowing when it got monetized. I kept filming, and in 2014, Mark bought a car. When I asked him how he could afford it, he lied that someone gifted it to him. I hadn’t received any money from Mark Angel Comedy then.

He started paying Emmanuella N20,000 monthly. Her parents didn’t know the true value of what she was doing. In 2016, he gave me N50,000 and claimed the comedy wasn’t making money. But we were actually earning $160,000 per month from Facebook.”

Mark Angel has not yet responded to these allegations.
