Defence Chief Urges Citizens to Pursue Dialogue Over Protests

The Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, has made a heartfelt appeal to citizens, urging them to adopt dialogue and other peaceful means to hold their leaders accountable, rather than resorting to protests that could lead to destruction and other negative consequences.
During a one-day dialogue organized by the Institute for Development Research and Training at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, at weekend, Musa emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability.
He pointed out that the current climate in the country is not conducive to protests, as these actions could be exploited by those with harmful intentions.
Musa stressed that the armed forces are committed to the well-being and security of the nation.
He encouraged citizens to engage in constructive dialogue and explore non-violent methods to express their concerns and demands.
The Defence Chief warned that protests, while a fundamental right, have the potential to escalate into violence and be manipulated by individuals seeking to destabilize the country.
In his address, Musa highlighted the need for unity and collective effort in addressing the nation’s challenges.
He urged all stakeholders to work together in fostering an environment where issues can be resolved through understanding and cooperation rather than conflict.
The event at Ahmadu Bello University provided a platform for various discussions on development and the role of dialogue in nation-building.
Musa’s call for peaceful engagement resonated with the participants, who acknowledged the importance of maintaining peace and order for the country’s progress.
