The Dangote Refinery-backed MRS filling station has reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), cutting retail fuel costs across its Abuja outlets.
The News Chronicle gathered that the station now sells petrol at N1,241 per litre, down from N1,317, marking a N76 reduction, or 5.77 per cent.
The adjustment comes just three days after the Dangote Refinery lowered its gantry price by N75 per litre, following a dip in global crude oil prices below $80 per barrel.
However, major marketers including the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Ranoil, AA Rano, Empire Energy and others in Abuja have yet to reflect any price reduction at their pumps, despite the decline in crude oil costs and the refinery’s downward review.
The delay has continued to fuel public criticism, with many Nigerians expressing frustration over the reluctance of several fuel retailers to adjust prices in line with market trends.
