BREAKING: US Supreme Court Rules on Trump’s Bid to Restrict Birthright Citizenship

The United States Supreme Court has ruled against President Donald Trump’s executive order seeking to restrict birthright citizenship in the country.

Trump signed the order on his first day back in office in January last year as part of his administration’s broader immigration crackdown.

The directive aimed to deny automatic U.S. citizenship to children born to undocumented immigrants and certain temporary migrants.

However, a federal court blocked the order, ruling that it conflicted with the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees birthright citizenship.

The legal challenge eventually reached the Supreme Court.

Despite the court’s conservative majority, the justices ruled against Trump’s executive order, upholding the lower court’s decision.
