BREAKING: Hisbah Head Steps Down, Alleges Gov Yusuf Hindering His Efforts

In a video shared on his social media account, Daurawa talked about his current activities in Kaduna State.

He mentioned meeting with lawmakers led by the Speaker to talk about implementing a mandatory pre-marital health check in Kano, similar to what other Nigerian states have.

He expressed feeling discouraged by negative comments from Kano despite his efforts with Hisbah to promote societal morality.

Daurawa also mentioned providing guidance and financial assistance to some TikTok celebrities and engaging with Kannywood actors.

“I’ve actively engaged with Kannywood and TikTok celebrities, offering guidance and even providing financial assistance to some TikTokers. I even extended advice to Murja too.”

He talked about advising Ummita before her unfortunate death. He mentioned facing consequences for those who disregarded their guidance.

He then mentioned apologizing to the Governor for his anger and announced his resignation from his position in Hisbah.

“But I am saying sorry to the Excellency Governor for being angry, I sorry to say I have resigned from the position he gave me in Hisbah, I wish him best in his leadership.”

He wished the Governor success in his leadership. Governor Yusuf expressed dissatisfaction with how Hisbah’s ‘operation kau da badala’ was being carried out across the state.

Operation ‘Kau da Badala’ is an initiative by Hisbah aimed at fighting immorality and enforcing Islamic values.

The Governor, during a meeting with Imams at Kano Government House, expressed concerns about the methods used by Hisbah.

He mentioned seeing a video that disturbed him, showing adults being treated harshly by Hisbah officers.

He emphasized the importance of Hisbah being composed of God-fearing individuals who can carry out their duties in line with what is right.

The Governor stressed the need for agencies like Hisbah to guide youth towards righteousness and to advise all stakeholders on the right path.

He expressed worry about the consequences of using excessive force and the potential for harm to individuals.

He highlighted the contradiction between the purpose of establishing agencies like Hisbah to strengthen Islamic values and the negative impact of their actions on the youth’s obedience to those values.

He emphasized the importance of doing things in the right way to avoid unintended consequences.
