Suspected fighters of Boko Haram launched a deadly attack on Benishek and Ngamdu in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State early Thursday morning, killing a Brigadier, a Captain, and 10 other personnel.
The attack reportedly occurred around 12:00 a.m., during which the insurgents also burned military vehicles and carted away numerous weapons.
An anonymous Person working in Benishek told The New Chronicle via WhatsApp that heavy gunfire and explosions were heard during the assault, causing panic among residents.
More details are expected as authorities are yet to issue an official statement.
