Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists on Saturday Night attacked Kautikari village in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, setting a primary school and a day secondary school on fire.
The attack, which occurred around 7 p.m., forced residents to flee into nearby bushes for safety. A Resident, who confirmed the incident to The News Chronicle, said people were scrambling to escape as the schools were engulfed in flames.
He added that the number of casualties could not be immediately confirmed.
Kautikari village has suffered several deadly attacks by insurgents in recent years.
