Bayer Leverkusen defeated Eintracht Frankfurt, thanks to Victor Boniface’s late-minute brilliance, which secured yet another victory on their home turf.
Although Boniface missed an early spot kick in the 9th minute, he redeemed himself with a goal in the 77th minute, which was enough to overcome a resilient Eintracht Frankfurt.
It is the Nigerian’s 5th league goal this season after seven games, with only Omar Marmoush scoring more. Boniface now shares the same tally (5) with Harry Kane and Andrej Kramaric.
After Boniface’s missed penalty, the visitors took the lead shortly afterward. However, their advantage was short-lived as Robert Andrich netted the equalizer for the defending champions in the 25th minute.
With the 2-1 victory, Bayer Leverkusen climbed to 4th place in the Bundesliga standings, piling pressure on Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, who are yet to lose a game this season.
