Big Brother Naija reality star Angel Smith and her partner Tumininu, are facing a marital crisis less than two weeks after their wedding ceremony in the United States.
The couple, who reportedly formalized their union at a civil registry in Texas, USA, in January 2026 before holding a private ceremony in March, are now at the center of a public disagreement marked by allegations of infidelity, financial conflict, and family interference.
Tumininu has accused Angel Smith of being unfaithful shortly after their wedding. In a series of posts shared on Snapchat, she alleged that the reality star became involved with another woman she met on a dating platform.
“She’s currently at the girl’s house… after everything,” Tumininu wrote.
“And yet you still went and slept with a girl that you met on Hinge.”
She further said that the alleged affair occurred despite significant personal and financial efforts she had made to sustain the relationship.
Tumininu also disclosed details of her financial contributions, stating that she had spent over $100,000 (approximately ₦100 million) on Angel Smith during the course of their relationship.
“Since you got here, I have spent over 100k dollars on Angel,” she said.
“On her birthday, I spent about 50k dollars.”
She described these expenditures as sacrifices made in support of their relationship, adding that she now feels taken advantage of.
In another statement, Tumininu questioned the intent behind the marriage, alleging that it may have been entered into for legal or immigration-related reasons.
“She married me just because of papers,” she claimed.
She also directed criticism at Angel Smith’s mother, alleging that she had encouraged the union for similar reasons.
“Her mum knew everything and was begging me to marry her,” Tumininu wrote, suggesting that the family was aware of underlying issues before the wedding.
The situation has drawn widespread reactions on X (formerly Twitter):
“Less than two weeks and it’s already over? This didn’t start today,” one user wrote.
“This has to be one of the shortest celebrity marriages in recent times,” another added.
Some users focused on the financial aspect of the dispute.
“You don’t spend $100k on someone without asking serious questions,” a post read.
“Why keep receipts if it was love?” another user asked.
Others questioned the claims about the motive behind the marriage.
“If the ‘papers’ allegation is true, then this was never a real marriage,” one comment stated.
At some point, Tumininu indicated that the couple would proceed with another wedding ceremony in Monaco, though no date or venue was confirmed. She later returned to discussing the ongoing conflict.
In a separate post, she shared a photo of a ring with the caption:
“If you need a ring, holla,” hinting at a breakup.
As of the time of reporting, Angel Smith has not issued a detailed public response to the allegations.
Angel Smith gained prominence as a finalist on Big Brother Naija: Shine Ya Eye (2021) and has since built a career as a writer and influencer. Her relationship with Tumininu became public in late 2025 and quickly drew attention due to its visibility on social media.
The couple’s wedding, held in the United States, where same-sex marriages are legally recognized, had already generated mixed reactions among Nigerian audiences due to the beliefs and lifestyle of the LGBTQ+ community being taboo.
