Tragically, there are reports of suspected bandits causing the death of a young Man named Obaje Saidu, who was a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
The incident occurred as he was on his way back to Katsina State for his monthly clearance, following his graduation from Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
Asta Matthew, a friend of the deceased, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook on January 7, 2024. In her post, she lamented the broader issue of insecurity in Nigeria as a significant problem.
She recalled the challenges Obaje faced in attempting to relocate back to Kaduna and expressed sorrow over NYSC denying him that opportunity.
Reflecting on their shared experiences, Asta highlighted the hard work and dedication Obaje exhibited during their time together, emphasizing how they collectively contributed to making their platoon the best in the camp’s history.
She bid farewell to her dear friend, affectionately calling him “Mr. Marcho Batch B1,” and concluded with a poignant message, wishing him eternal peace and expressing the hope that his perpetrators would never find peace.
