Bandits Alert FG, Urge Dialogue Amid Ongoing Insecurity

Armed bandits from northern Nigeria have said they will attack more innocent people if the President Bola Tinubu-led administration fails to dialogue with them.

Mallam Jabir, a human rights advocate and socio-political commentator, posted a video featuring bandits delivering their message to the Federal Government of Nigeria in Hausa.

In the video shared on TikTok, a group of bandits can be seen displaying a remarkable lack of fear as they boldly brandish their weapons. Their demeanor exudes a sense of confidence.

A day after 137 students were kidnapped from LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School Kuriga in Kaduna State, some bandits on Tiktok showed off the money they got from the ransom.

It’s uncertain whether the bandits on TikTok are actually involved in the abduction of the Kuriga schoolchildren. However, what’s striking is the sheer audacity they display in publicizing their actions.

This boldness has left many people shocked and concerned about the extent to which criminals are leveraging social media platforms for their activities.

The abduction of Kuriga students elicited anger from numerous individuals, including UNICEF, a global organization committed to aiding children worldwide.

The military and local authorities rescued all 137 students in Zamfara State, according to Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations.

But just a day after the rescue, a video of bandits showing off ransom money appeared on Tiktok.

According to Zagazola Makama a security analyst and counterinsurgency expert in Lake Chad, says that the bandits’ Tiktok account has 3000 followers.

The bandits in the video wear military and police uniforms and show off their guns openly.
