Army Rescues 12 Teenage Girls Kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have rescued 12 teenage girls who were abducted by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Mussa District, Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.
The Nigerian Army announced the successful operation in a statement on its official Facebook page on Sunday. According to the statement, the girls have been taken to a secure military facility, where they are receiving medical care and psychological support.
The victims, aged between 15 and 20, were kidnapped on November 23 while harvesting crops on their family farms. Their abduction caused fear and tension throughout the community.
The Army said the rescue mission took place on Saturday, November 29, and was executed swiftly based on credible intelligence by troops operating in southern Borno.
The rescued girls are currently undergoing medical examinations, counselling, and debriefing. They will be reunited with their families once all procedures are completed.
The Army listed their names as: Fatima Shaibu (17), Fatima Umaru (15), Hauwa Abubakar (18), Saliha Muhammed (15), Sadiya Umaru (17), Amira Babel (15), Zara Adamu (17), Nana Shaibu (15), Zainab Musa (18), Zainab Muhammed (17), Jamila Saidu (15), and Hauwa Hamidu (17).
The military high command commended the troops for their bravery and also appreciated the local informants whose timely information made the operation possible.
The Army added that troops are still pursuing ISWAP elements across southern Borno to prevent further attacks and protect civilians. Residents were encouraged to continue providing useful information to help enhance security and restore lasting peace to the region.
