Apple Unveils More Security Updates For iOS

Apple has released updates for iPhones, iPads, and Macs because there were two serious problems that hackers were using to get into people’s devices.

These updates, known as iOS and iPadOS 17.1.2, and macOS 14.1.2, were put out by Apple after security experts at Google discovered these issues.

These updates are aimed to fix vulnerabilities in a part of the web browser that powers Safari and other apps.

These vulnerabilities allowed hackers to remotely install harmful software, like spyware, onto a person’s device through the internet.

These issues are called “zero-day” because the company had no time to fix them before they were actively used by malicious individuals.

Apple mentioned that some older versions of their software might have been affected and warned users about this.

Additionally, they updated their Safari browser for people using older macOS versions.

It’s unclear who exactly is behind these attacks using these vulnerabilities. Google and Apple did not disclose much information about the attackers.

Google also fixed a similar issue in their Chrome browser, as they knew that bad actors were using it too.

Google managed to fix their problem in about four days, while Apple took a bit longer, fixing their issue in under a week after being informed by Google about it.
