The campaign convoy of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has reportedly come under attack in Calabar, Cross River State.
Ester Umoh, a media aide to Obi, raised the alarm in a social media post on Wednesday, alleging that suspected thugs were attempting to attack the convoy.
“Thugs are trying to attack our convoy,” she wrote.

The reported incident occurred shortly after Obi arrived in Calabar alongside his wife, Margaret, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, ahead of a town hall meeting, The News Chronicle gathered.
The development comes barely two months after Obi’s convoy reportedly came under attack in Benue State.
During the incident, suspected thugs blocked Boko Road near the Air Force Base in an attempt to prevent the former Anambra State governor from gaining access into the state.
