Air Force honors fallen heroes through targeted strikes against terrorists

Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, who holds the position of Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), stressed the significance of maintaining ongoing collaborative efforts involving air, ground, and maritime operations aimed at countering terrorists, insurgents, economic saboteurs, and various non-state actors within Nigeria.

He expressed this sentiment while commending the Air Component Commanders for successful air strikes in various theatres of operation in 2024, leading up to the upcoming 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

On January 13, 2024, the air component of Operation Hadin Kai executed successful air interdiction strikes at Tumbunma Baba near Lake Chad, resulting in the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of their vehicles and structures.

Air Marshal Abubakar acknowledged that the nation can never fully repay the fallen heroes but stressed the need to persist in efforts to restore peace and tranquility across the country.

He emphasized that the dedication and commitment of the fallen heroes played a crucial role in Nigeria’s peaceful past.

Highlighting the support from the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government, Air Marshal Abubakar urged the continuation of momentum in operations.

He emphasized the responsibility to instill confidence in citizens, allowing them to carry out their daily activities without fear.

The CAS called on all Nigerians to express gratitude, goodwill, solidarity, and unrelenting prayers for the fallen heroes and their families.

According to his perspective, when we express these sentiments, it serves not only as a way to pay tribute to these dedicated patriots but also as a means to provide reassurance to those currently in active service.

The expressions not only acknowledge the sacrifices made by these individuals but also convey a steadfast commitment from the nation, assuring that their contributions will never be forgotten, and that unwavering support will be extended to them during times of necessity.
