Although I am yet to travel all over Africa, Africans travel to my tiny country, and information about Africa and Africans travels towards me. There is no continent I prefer over Africa, especially in the world of nature. I think this week should have been a week of reminding Africans why we should be grateful without looking down on others and where we need to work on to avoid harder lives. Over 85 people are reportedly dead in the u.s due to extreme cold, according to the under reporting media. If it is about 85 people dead within a week, then how much is it in a season and per decade? How many millions suffered but did not die? And how many billions of dollars were lost and made? Although these disasters largely cost money, some people and even industries exist due to these problems.
Yes, Africa has completely different smaller problems that are largely man made and refuse to learn on many issues. My Gambia or SeneGambians are often complaining about our nice sunlight, which may be much nicer than the sunlight of Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and even humid summer sunlight of North Carolina to the deserts of Arizona. You do not need to visit every ‘hell’ if you know maths and check the weather forecasts to imagine and choose. The irony is about 25% of westerners may thank God for their poor sunlight more than Africans, and elite to Middle class Africans may thank God for their low level man made wealth, air conditioners, or finance more than richer westerners or Arabs+?
If we study the problems of Africans, we tend to see ignorance or lack of appreciation for knowledge and knowledgeable people. African heat or cold did not kill 85 Africans in one week, but negligence on things like food killed a lot more Africans within the week. Actually, over 200 Africans, (migrant boat sunk), reportedly died this week while trying to reach colder Europe. There is no visible blessing greater than the sun, but does that mean more sun is always best? Humankind are like aliens on earth, and even sun loving people like myself have limits on the amount of sun we can take.
I do not know if I may like the Saudi sun, but I do appreciate and do have a sun sauna in the Gambia, which means I can take more heat, at least for a few hours. The reality remains in ch.76:13 ‘extreme heat or extreme cold is not ideal for humans. How do we define extreme heat or extreme cold on earth? We ask the plants or the children of Africa before they sin on sex and money+? Or we ask the most truthful: if Africans do not have the worse and worst weather, why do they complain about their sweet weather? It could be ignorance or phatic talk they inherited?
Those of us who travelled are divided. All of us know that the west has a much harder test on weather, but 25 to 50% of us will join the guilty Africans in complaining about our sweet weather. Our journalists do not seize such opportunities to re-educate our populace and pressure our politicians towards solving our real problems. My personal experience includes when I switched to a vegan lifestyle, I enjoyed the sun now much more , but how many Africans know this fact versus may make the efforts? It does not matter if 5%, 25%, or 50% and more may try it for months or years to see similar results. After travelling, you can bring back money and/or knowledge to share with varyingly grateful and/or ungrateful people.
The west is not all gloomy. Among the nice things I cherished about the west is their wide varieties of food, especially plant based food. Availability and affordability of food in the West versus Africa can be both direct and indirect comparisons. How much plant based food is available in Africa versus our potential are two different questions? Recently, I published an article outlining how we can improve our edible tropical trees and show that the Gambia and most of Africa are not even 25% of our potential on trees and plants in general.
We can change that availability reality if we work together more closely, but mass changing will often require government and media participation. On affordability, our import oriented leaning means only the richest can afford our rising availability through imports. Affordability should not always be tied to foreign exchange rates, but what the ordinary laborer or teacher can afford per country.
When you and I, or the millions of Africans, enjoyed wide varieties of plants in the West, that is an introduction for possible reintroduction. From the colonial days, westerners see plants in other areas and think about what efforts can we make to have our people or others access them? In the case of vegetables, Africa can grow virtually everything. I feel ashamed that I enjoyed collard greens, Swiss chard, kale, etc for a long time before thinking about how to introduce such blessings to even my parents. Perhaps it never crossed my mind and God or who controls our thoughts versus ears? God introduced you to some plants through your parents and the efforts of colonial masters, but when God introduced you to some plants in the west or Asia+, what efforts will you employ beyond your family?
A poor writer may not be listened to by money worshipping Africans, but who knows if thousands or more may learn this week, and how many millions or billions may learn by when? Small or big, I am lucky to be a medium, introducing my parents to plants they never knew, except I want to do much more and far beyond my parents. I do not agree that colonisation was totally bad, and I think the colonial masters who made efforts to introduce Africans to plants deserve heaven more than some of our current leaders who are indifferent or employ very little effort to uplift the poor. Why should the rich Asians or others make more efforts to introduce Africans to new plants more than the rich Africans in 2026? They over value bloody meat or indifferent in which layers against who?
How do we ascertain we consume 5 to 10 different leafy vegetables per week; 5 to 10 fruits per week; 5 to 10 types of nuts per week; enough seeds and herbs, etc are blessings we can seek more than man made things. Food and enough quality food are different. The ‘how’ (cooking or preparation) aspects on food for taste and beyond are all mysteries or blessings we are ushered into, even here on earth. When the Quhr-aahn hints ‘heaven has wide varieties of plants, then science and conscience point us to plants for health+ for seeking… I enjoy reading, praying, and even dreaming about heaven, but gratitude told me to seek and share the best of what the earth offers. Our generation is very lucky in some ways, but how do we utilize the opportunities and at least invite people into the blessings that God offers?
The governments are hijacked by the guilty west, or will they offer land reforms asap? The world of trees requires a lot of land and the swift addition of billions of trees for fruits and nuts, if we care about the poor accessing quality fruits. The worlds of grains, vegetables, and herbs require planning, some money, and more vertical gardening. Seeds are largely in between. I am optimistic, but the decades we lost before our repentance started, and our slow pace, do scare me a bit. When God inspires, I feel optimistic and He often follows it up with joy and more introduction for myself. I often feel disappointed compared to hope or external achievements. Every sane and grateful soul wants to see mass repentance and mass uplifting. Those of us with physical challenges due to health can still urge and act where we can.
Whereas Africa’s sun is arguably the best visible blessing we can be expelled or suspended from at what age before possible readmission… When was the last time you said: ‘ thank you God for the sun’ or you just complained about it? If we send you to the west, some atheists are saying ‘nice day’ due to the sun more often than which Africans or xyz? The mystery of the sun is still unfolding. How much sun do we need versus want from personal level to working level are different.
I do not believe the thirty minutes of daily sunlight many doctors recommend is enough, unless you are looking for C level health. The sun has many layers of blessings and we pray to rise, enjoy, and be highly blessed through the sun. I am not bragging, but highly thankful that I enjoy the nice dry sunshine. However, even me, I am in a mixed blessing with the sun. I want at least two hours of sweat like sunlight and while exercising, yet I am too poor to build an over 75% glass house with gym+. Sometimes, I find it hard to go sunbathing while writing, partly due to mood and how the sun may affect screen writing or viewing. Today, I am reclining on the sun-friendly window to write this article, but both the furniture and sun level could have been better. The other irony about the Sun is cold is not really what many think. Cold is just the absence of heat and mainly the sun. All the western cold is really God withholding his sun or blessing per season…
Even atheist leaning Elon Musk admits the Sun is very unique and makes other earthly sources of energy very small. The sun offers way beyond vitamin D or hormone D. In regards to energy, human needs for energy are relatively small, so I prefer wind energy over solar energy. We just lack enough knowledge and blessings, but our needs and reasonable wants can be met if we shift from the capitalist mindset and get God much more. Beside universal land access, we must see water as a time based right. Meaning, we should make water accessible to all for free or at a reasonable rate per person for unlimited usage. Water access for year round farming is overdue.
Where I admire the west the most is their love or determination on learning, or more specifically education. However, why we seek knowledge and how we utilize knowledge after attainment are different and more crucial. Trying to subjugate the weak through knowledge or power is largely evil. Of course these problems are not exclusive to westerners, because we have seen many African leaders and educated Africans indifferent to the poor and orphans up to the Gambia’s development plan (NDP). Where do you demonstrate universal love on education and set acceptable minimums with efforts, including the use of reciprocal-law under a just God? Do you want a university level of education for your children and not even high school for the poorest or those with questionable parents?
Human choices are completely at different levels. No matter where God tests you with, you may have good and bad people. So I would rather be in a nice place like Africa, but how do we make Africans good or great , including how to appreciate the intelligence, truth, and kindness God offers on earth? If your neighbours do not eat well, they may feel sick and that will affect you. They may come for loans to pay doctors more often because they refuse to garden or pay farmers enough, and that can affect you differently. From the inability to help to going to endless funerals are not nice.
Beyond weather, the West has huge drug problems that Africa should smartly avoid. How do we introduce our children and parents or grandparents to wide varieties of plants is both a prayer and above prayer. It requires efforts, including to ‘exhort each other to truth’, as per ch.103. If your love is small, then do it at the family level. Can you send us enough dried fruits, nuts, seeds, canned vegetables, etc is one route. Or if you want quality and have big love, then check my other articles on using aircrafts to transport billions of tree seedlings and ask God to uplift me big beyond words. Talk to others on more gardening and ask them to send you seeds, not just clothes. Why is Africa dependent on her children and children of other races where we can repent? May God help us repent and Amend enough. May God bless Showlove Trinity: let’s learn, let’s work, let’s have fun.
