Odinkalu’s Claim of Sexual Relationship Between Agunechemba Boss, Jailed Native Doctor’s Wife False- Anambra Govt

Anambra State Government on Tuesday announced the conclusion of its investigation into allegations made by a rights activist, Prof. Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, against the Special Adviser to the Governor on Homeland Security, Mr. Ken Emeakayi, stating that it found the claims false and misleading.

Odinkalu had raised alarm over information he says has reached him that a top senior aide to Governor Chukwuma Soludo was allegedly exploiting the case of Mr. Chukwudozie Nwangwu, a.k.a. Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, who was jailed by the state government, by engaging in an amorous relationship with the native doctor’s young wife while he serves time in prison.

Recall that the said native doctor is currently at the Amawbia Correctional Facility, serving out a jail term for alleged involvement in ritual money known as ‘Okeite.’

In a post on his X handle, Odinkalu wrote, “I am getting multiple & credible reports that a senior cabinet adviser with responsibility for security matters in Anambra State, who supervised the enforcement action against Chukwudozie Nwangwu—better known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki—has been intensely canoodling with Akwa Okuko’s young spouse while the ex-native doctor serves time in prison.

“If this is true, it gives new meaning to #DoubleJeopardy & is the kind of impunity & #SelfDealing that brings government into disrepute.

#AkwaOkuko may justly be serving time for violations of criminal law, but interference with his domestic and marital arrangements is not part of the stipulated punishment, and certainly not for the benefit or at the instigation of the person in government who oversaw proceedings against him.”

But a press release from the state government, circulated on social media by aides of the Anambra State Governor, states that a Fact-Finding Committee constituted by the State Government to probe Prof. Odinkalu’s allegations has submitted its report dated 11th May 2026.

The statement read, “The Committee, chaired by the Hon. Attorney General of Anambra State, Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN, and comprising senior lawyers from the Ministry of Justice, stated that it took evidence from all accused parties.

“This included Mr. Ken Emeakayi, who supervised state actions against Mr. Chukwudozie Nwangwu as referenced by Prof. Odinkalu; Mrs. Mmasi Nwangwu; and counsel to Mr. Nwangwu, who testified on his behalf.

According to the report, the Committee issued several notices to Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, inviting him to respond via text or to join a virtual or physical meeting to disclose the source of his information or provide evidence supporting his allegation. Prof. Odinkalu failed to honor any of the notices.

“After reviewing all evidence presented by relevant persons, the Committee found the testimonies consistent in establishing that Mr. Ken Emeakayi and Mrs. Nwangwu did not have any personal or improper relationship.

“Accordingly, the Committee concluded that the allegation is false and misleading.

“The Anambra State Government reiterates its commitment to due process, fairness, and the protection of the reputation of public officers from malicious and unsubstantiated claims.”
